Šid Memorial to the Jewish Victims of the Holocaust 1 Petra Kočića Street 2014 The monument to the Jews of Šid was unveiled on December 17, 2014. It is placed on the plateau next to the National Library in this town. Mr. Radovan Sremac, a curator - archaeologist from Šid, initiated the unveiling of this memorial commemorating Jews who perished in the Holocaust, with the financial support from the Association of Jews from the former Yugoslavia in Israel (Hitahdut oley ex-Yugoslavia be-Israel), under the auspices of the National Library and the Šid Municipality. The monument has a simple form – a platform lies a slanted marble plate engraved with Magen David and the inscription in Serbian and Hebrew that reads: 'In memory to the Jews of Šid who perished in the Holocaust.' I would like to thank Mr. Sremac for the photograph.
